NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team plays its final exhibition contest of the 2007 preseason on Monday, Nov. 5, when Anderson University visits Memorial Gymnasium for a 5:30 p.m. CT tip-off.
The Commodores defeated Cumberland University, 104-43, in their first exhibition contest last Wednesday. Senior Liz Sherwood and junior Christina Wirth led Vanderbilt with 16 points.
With 10 sophomores and freshmen on a 13-woman roster, VU Head Coach Melanie Balcomb relishes the opportunity to see more live action before the regular season opens later this week with home games against UAB (Friday, Nov. 9) and Furman (Sunday, Nov. 11).
Monday’s game leads off a doubleheader that features the Commodore men’s only preseason game.
Women’s ticket holders must vacate their seats at the conclusion of the first game, but will be welcome to watch the men’s game from the last three rows of sections 3F and 3L. Ticket holders for the men’s game may also watch the women’s contest. However, access to their specific seat will not be available until after the women’s game.
