Year-by-Year History 
| Team Photos Through the Years 
To help preserve and archive the history of varsity women’s basketball at Vanderbilt, we went back through time and merged every yearly roster, team photo, results and individual statistics into one document.
Since its first season in 1977-78, Vanderbilt has compiled a 716-348 record and has advanced to 24 NCAA Tournaments.
Vanderbilt’s varsity history is comprised of 148 all-time letterwinners and just four head coaches: Joe Pepper (1978-80, Phil Lee (1981-91), Jim Foster (1992-2002) and Melanie Balcomb (2003-present).
