Thomas moved ahead of Gillingham with a jumper in the paint with 5:15 remaining in the game. She finished with 18 points in the game and 1,595 for her career. She stands 36 points away from Barbara Brackman (1,631 points, 1982-85) and seventh place. Thomas also contributed 10 rebounds to post the 12th double-double of her career. FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Carla Thomas scored 18 points to lead No. 15 Vanderbilt to a 61-34 win over Arkansas on Sunday.

The Commodores (18-4, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) allowed just 10 field goals in the game, a record low for the Lady Razorbacks in Southeastern Conference play. The previous low was 12, in a 2003 game against Auburn.

Arkansas (17-5, 3-4) also set a record low in conference play shooting 21.7 percent from the floor, and tied their mark for fewest points in a half with 14.

Laura Ervin and Donica Cosby scored 10 points each to lead the Lady Razorbacks. Arkansas hit just 2-of-13 3-pointers and made only 12 of 27 from the free-throw line.

Arkansas did not score its first points until the 10:48 mark in the first half, when the Lady Razorbacks finally made a field goal on their 15th attempt. That made the score 16-2. Arkansas then missed its next six shots from the field.

Vanderbilt led 30-14 at halftime.

The Commodores will next travel to play Kentucky in Lexington this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. CT.

DAVIS BREAKS ASSISTS RECORD
With her first assist of the Arkansas game — on a Carla Thomas jumper that gave Vanderbilt a 10-0 lead — senior guard Dee Davis moved into sole possession of the Vanderbilt all-time career record for assists. Davis entered the Arkansas game tied with former Commodore Ashley McElhiney at 673 career assists. With 677 career assists, Davis currently ranks eighth all-time in the Southeastern Conference. She needs 30 assists to pass Kentucky’s Sandy Harding for seventh place.
