LEXINGTON, Ky. — The 15th-ranked Commodore women’s basketball team travels north for the only time in Southeastern Conference play to take on Kentucky Thursday night at Memorial Coliseum. The non-televised league contest is scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m. CT.

Vanderbilt is looking to continue its domination over Kentucky in recent years. The Commodores have won 10 straight meetings between the two schools, and 19 out of the last 20. Last year in Nashville, five Commodores reached double-figures to power Vanderbilt to a 72-55 victory over the Lady Cats.

The Commodores bring a wealth of experience to Memorial Coliseum this year, including a senior trio as strong as any in the conference. Point guard Dee Davis recently became Vanderbilt’s all-time leader in assists, passing former Commodore great Ashley McElhiney. Davis currently ranks eighth all-time in the SEC.

Forward Carla Thomas ranks eighth all-time in scoring at Vanderbilt, having recently moved ahead of former VU All-American Heidi Gillingham. Thomas is five away from 1,600 career points.

Shooting guard Caroline Williams continues to tear up the net — ranking second in the conference and fifth in the nation in three-point field-goal percentage. The Rockmart, Ga., native is on pace to become the most accurate long-range shooter in the history of the SEC.

Playing its six road game in the last eight contests, the Commodores have earned two weeks back in Nashville following the Kentucky game. Vanderbilt will play host to Alabama on Sunday, Feb. 4, before enjoying a bye during the mid-week.
