NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 20/17 Vanderbilt women’s basketball team kicks off a five-game homestand on Thursday, Dec. 6, when Western Kentucky visits Memorial Gymnasium for a 7 p.m. CT tip-off.

Fans heading to Thursday’s game can receive one free admission with each gently used children’s book they bring to donate to the Charles Davis Foundation.

The Commodores are returning to their home court after a trip to Berkeley, Calif., where they split a pair of games over the weekend. Vanderbilt has won 21 consecutive non-conference regular season home games.

The Lady Toppers have already have one victory inside a Southeastern Conference gymnasium this season, having defeated Kentucky last Friday, 78-74, in overtime. Western Kentucky is 6-2 on the season.

Last year in Bowling Green, the Commodores closed the game with a 17-2 run to take a 86-78 victory from the Lady Toppers. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series with Western Kentucky, 16-12, including a 9-3 mark in Nashville.

The Commodores will remain at home for the next month, playing host to Colorado (Dec. 9), Lipscomb (Dec. 22), Old Dominion (Dec. 30) and South Florida (Jan. 2) before traveling to Princeton, N.J. (Jan. 5).

The Charles Davis Foundation offers inner city youth positive role models, programs, activities, resources and opportunities that build character and self esteem.
