The No. 25/22 Vanderbilt women’s basketball team (8-0) closes out a three-game, six-day stretch on Sunday, December 4, when it plays host to High Point (4-2). Tipoff at Memorial Gym is set for 2:00 p.m. The game can be heard in Nashville on WNSR 560 AM and seen live on VUCommodores.com as part of Vanderbilt All-Access.

Scouting the Commodores
No. 25/22 Vanderbilt has equalled the second-best start under Head Coach Melanie Balcomb, moving to 8-0 following an 83-51 win over Denver. Christina Foggie again led the charge for Vanderbilt, pouring in 23 points and giving her at least 20 points in each of the last three contests. She is now averaging 15.8 points per game. Right behind her is fellow sophomore guard Jasmine Lister, who is posting 12.9 points per game to go along with 5.6 assists per contest. Also in double-figures for the Commodores are redshirt sophomore Stephanie Holzer (12.0 ppg) and junior forward Tiffany Clarke (11.6). Clarke is the team’s leading rebounder, pulling down 7.6 boards per game. Other players to watch for Vanderbilt include junior Elan Brown (7.3 rpg) and a pair of freshman guards in Kady Schrann (7.5 ppg) and Maggie Morrison (4.4 apg).

Scouting the Panthers
High Point comes to Nashville fresh off their first win over a BCS-confernce team since 2009. In a battle of the Panthers, High Point downed Pittsburgh out of the BIG EAST, 82-75, at home on Friday, December 2. Junior Erin Reynolds led the way against Pitt, scoring a school record (at Division I) 36 points. Reynolds is now second on the team with 17.2 points per game. Leading the way most the season has been Shamia Brown, who is averaging 18.2 points per contest and had a double-double in the win over Pitt (11 points, 13 rebounds). Cheyenne Parker is the other Panther averaging double-digits, at 15.3 ppg. She also had a double-double against Pitt with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jennifer Hoover is in her first season as the head coach at High Point.

Vanderbilt vs. High Point – The Series
Sunday will be the first meeting in women’s basketball between High Point and Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt vs. Big South
Vanderbilt has posted a 7-0 record against members of the Big South. The Commodores are 2-0 record against Liberty, the Commodores have won single match-ups with Campbell, Charleston Southern, Radford, UNC Asheville and Winthrop. Liberty was in Nashville for the annual Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament, but the Commodores and Lady Flames did not meet.

On-Deck
The Commodores will return to the road when they travel to Martin, Tenn., to face UT Martin. Tipoff with the Skyhawks is set for 7:00 p.m.
