The Vanderbilt women’s golf team is in 12th place at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational after carding a team total of 299 in the second round of play on Saturday at the UNC Finley Golf Course. Freshman Abbey Carlson is the team’s leader after two rounds with a total of four-over, 148 (73-75).
The Commodores counted a 73 from senior Kate Sborov, a pair of 75’s from Carlson and sophomore Courtney Zeng, and a 76 from junior Alexandra Farnsworth.
Wake Forest and Alabama are tied for the team lead with a score of seven-under par, 569. Jennifer Kupcho of Wake has a three-stroke individual lead with a total of nine-under, 135 (67-68).
The third and final round will be played on Sunday in Chapel Hill.
