COLUMBIA 300 MUSIC CITY CLASSIC FACT SHEET
Here are details for this weekend’s Columbia 300 Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt University at the Smyrna Bowling Center, Smyrna, Tennessee. Admission is free to the public.
Tourney Format There is be a relatively standard competition format. Friday’s play begins at 9:40 a.m. with five, 5-Game Baker matches. Saturday’s five traditional game matches begin at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) Sunday’s championship bracket is best four of seven Baker play beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CDT)
A Field of 35 Entered Nineteen of the Top 20 ranked teams in the latest NTCA poll are competing in the largest regular season tournament of the year. Only Nebraska is missing.

Balanced Scheduling To avoid the randomness of a team playing either a power-packed set of opponents or an agenda of lesser ranked foes, the field has been calibrated mathematically so that every team will have the same approximate degree of difficulty in the Friday and Saturday matches.
Live Streaming Insidebowling.com and Mike Flanigan will be on hand to live stream some of the action. Teams will rotate through its spotlighted lanes with two games per round shown. Vanderbilt will stream all of its matches not on the insidebowling.com stream on its usual cube.com site.
Last year’s MCC Recap Arkansas State downed McKendree 4-1 to win the championship with Nebraska third, Stephen F. Austin fourth and host Vanderbilt fifth. The all-tournament team consisted of Robyn Renslow and Katie Stark of Vanderbilt, Haley Richard of Arkansas State, Stephanie Schwartz of SFA and the MVP was Arkansas State’s Jordan Richard.
VU Stays Fifth in Latest NTCA Poll The Commodores, 65-29 for the year, maintained their No. 5 spot in the March poll of head coaches.

USBC Singles Qualifiers Jordan Newham and Maria Bulanova were among the six qualifiers last weekend for next month’s USBC Singles Championship. Qualifying was held at the Smyrna Bowling Center. Emily Rigney narrowly missed the cutline and Adel Wahner was in good shape to qualify but stumbled in her final game. Twenty-four women from around the nation qualified for the finals, which will be held April 18-19 and 22nd in Baton Rouge following the NCAA Championship.
