The first round of the 2nd Annual Hooters Women’s Collegiate Team Championship at Achasta, By Reynolds is complete, and the two Vanderbilt teams of Marina Alex/Lauren Stratton and Anna Leigh Keith/Rene Sobolewski are in a tie for seventh after each team posted a one-over par, 73, in alternate shot competition.
Both teams will return to the course on Wednesday morning for a best-ball format, and Thursday will be a team-stroke competition with both players’ scores being counted.
Lindsey Solberg/Caroline Power of Michigan State and Heather Lott/Liz Breed of the University of Kentucky are tied for the lead after day one with a four-under par, 68. The University of Virginia’s Elizabeth Brightwell/Portland Rosen found themselves in trouble on their final hole of the day before settling for a double bogey finishing a shot off the pace with a three-under-par 69.
