- Vanderbilt and Tennessee meet for the 206th time on Saturday. The game is set for a 5 p.m. tip on SEC Network with Dave Neal and Jon Sundvold on the call.
- Vanderbilt is 76-129 all-time against the Vols but leads the series 59-53 at home. The Dores claimed a thrilling, 66-65, win in the most recent meeting in Memorial Gymnasium on Tyrin Lawrence’s buzzer beating three-pointer.
- Lawrence enters Saturday’s game having scored in double figures in each of the past eight games. During that stretch, the guard is averaging 15.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 steals.
- Jason Rivera-Torres made his first career start at Mississippi State. The freshman has scored in double figures in 4-of-5 SEC games, averaging 12.6 points which ranks fourth among rookies in the conference.
