Volleyball Signs Chaney

Outside Kamryn Chaney was the 2024 Ivy League Player of the Year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt volleyball will add transfer Kamryn Chaney to its roster in the spring, head coach Anders Nelson announced Saturday.

Chaney is a 6-1 outside, who played two seasons at Princeton before coming to Vandy.

“We were looking for a proven point-scorer to add to our roster, and Kamryn is just that,” Nelson said. “She has an elite approach and brings a lot of heat as an attacker. She wanted a school that was the right fit academically and a program that gave her the opportunity to prove herself at the highest level of collegiate volleyball. Kamryn is looking forward to calling Nashville home and spending more time with her family in the city. We are so excited to welcome Kami to the Vanderbilt volleyball family!”

In her sophomore season with the Tigers, the Chicago native was recognized as the Ivy League Player of the Year and garnered AVCA All-America honorable mention and first-team AVCA All-Region and Ivy League honors. She was also named to the 2024 Ivy League all-tournament team and was chosen conference player of the week on four occasions. In 2024, she compiled 421 kills, which ranks ninth in program history for most kills in a season. As a freshman, she was named All-Ivy League second team and Ivy League Rookie of the Week.

Chaney led the conference in points (5.20) and kills per set (4.43) and was ranked top 25 in the NCAA in both categories in 2024. She was also ranked first in the Ivy League in points (494) and kills (421) this season and was the No. 2-ranked player for service aces (48) and aces per set (0.42).

Off the court, she was a member of the Black Student-Athlete Collective at Princeton and volunteers with the Let Her Play charity.

Chaney and the Commodores will begin the newly reinstated program’s inaugural season in August 2025. Fans can follow @VandyVolleyball on Instagram and X for updates.
