NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s basketball earned its first ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 since 2015, coming in at No. 24 in this week’s poll.
No. 24 Vanderbilt claimed two top 10 wins in the span of seven days, defeating No. 6 Tennessee on Jan. 18 before toppling No. 9 Kentucky on Saturday. The Commodores earned 132 votes in the poll.
The pair of top 10 wins mark the first time defeating two top 10 teams in a single season since 2006-07 and the first time with multiple top 10 wins at home since 1992-93.
The Commodores are 16-4 overall and 4-3 in SEC play in their first season under head coach Mark Byington.
Vanderbilt returns to action on Saturday at Oklahoma in a 2:30 p.m. tip on the SEC Network. Fans can secure tickets to remaining home games in Memorial Gymnasium on VUCommodores.com.
