Nashville, Tenn. – Head Vanderbilt spirit coach, Danielle Eckert and the members of the Vanderbilt spirit squad are happy to announce the addition of nine-year old Kinsey Keever to the Commodore squad.
Through Team Impact, a non-profit organization chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening illnesses through the power of team, Kinsey will attend practice, games and a few special events alongside her new teammates. A native of Clarksville, Tenn., Kinsey has a true passion for cheerleading and comes from an athletic family.
In September of 2014, Kinsey was diagnosed with a Nongerminomatous germ cell tumor on her pituitary gland. Kinsey has undergone chemotherapy and radiation, and since her last MRI the tumor has not shown any signs of growth. She is presently in her remission phase and doing well managing her tumor with MRI’s every four months.
With all that Kinsey has gone through and continues to fight through, there’s no doubt she will be a huge inspiration to her teammates and Commodore nation!
