Vandy finishes 25th at Roy Griak Cross Country Invitational Saturday- The Vanderbilt Men’s Cross Country team ran an 8k race Saturday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in the Griak Cross Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. Head Coach Don Bailey entered the meet with the following in mind. “As far as this weekend goes, we are running this meet to continue to familiarize ourselves with the best athletes and programs the nation has to offer.” In response to the team’s performance Coach Bailey said, “We know our team placing will not be very strong, but it will reflect a program on the rise. The experience we gain in ‘big meet’ competition should help us out as we head into our very competitive post-season. I’m expecting some breakout performances from athletes I know are ready to meet this challenge head-on.” Vanderbilt had a few notable performances, with sophomore transfer Kyle Morrison finishing first for the Commodores with a time of 27:27. Matt Doll finished right after Morrison with a time of 27:31. Next week the Commodores head to the Cardinal Classic in Louisville, Ky. |
