April 18, 2017

The Vanderbilt XC/TF program has officially added Anna Grace Morgan to its signing class for next season. Morgan is a native of Mountain Brook, Ala. and already a three-time state champion heading into the high school outdoor track season. She won the 2016 7A cross country crown with a time of 17:46.01, besting the second-place finisher and the rest of the field by over 30 seconds. Morgan also won state titles during the 2017 indoor track season in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:59.96 and in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:58.97, which is a 7A Indoor State Meet record. She joins the group of four athletes that signed with the Commodores during the early signing period in November in the 2017 Vanderbilt signing class.

Anna Grace Morgan on why Vanderbilt was the right fit:

“I chose Vanderbilt because the girls and coaches seem like family. It is the perfect environment for athletic and academic achievement. I love everything about Vanderbilt and can’t wait to be a Commodore!”

Assistant coach Bekah Smeltzer on Anna Grace Morgan:
“I’m thrilled to have Anna Grace join the Commodore family. As of this past winter, she is a three-time state champion. She has developed quite a bit this past year and I know her best years are in front of her. I am really looking forward to what we can accomplish together.”
