Pregame Notes
The Commodores and Wildcats are meeting for the 40th time overall.
Vanderbilt leads the all-time series, 26-13. The ‘Dores had won 13 straight meetings before dropping a 56-63 decision in Lexington last month.
The Commodores are 13-4 all-time against Kentucky in Nashville, including 12 straight wins at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Wildcats’ last win in Memorial came on Feb. 5, 1986, 79-70.

Postgame Notes
– With the win, Vanderbilt moves to 18-7 overall, 7-5 in SEC play. Kentucky falls to 21-4, 9-3 in SEC play.
– The Commodores are now 2-3 against ranked teams and 11-5 at night.
– Vanderbilt outshot (VU:48.9% to UK:35.3%) and outrebounded (VU:33 to UK:26) Kentucky, as well as hit more 3-pointers (VU:8; UK:1).
Jence Rhoads led all scorers with 25 points and five assists.
Merideth Marsh and Lauren Lueders contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Tiffany Clarke and Jessica Mooney led VU on the glass with seven boards a piece.

First Half – Kentucky 25, Vanderbilt 24
Elan Brown started the game off with authority, knocking down a jumper at the 19:47 mark of the first half. Vanderbilt is 9-2 when scoring the first basket of the game.
– Brown bookmarked her jumper with a 3-pointer at the 17:25 mark of the first half
Jence Rhoads made a jumper at the 15:35 mark to put Vandy up by three.
Rhoads mirrored Brown’s earlier effort with her own bookended 3-pointer at the 14:31 mark of the first half.
– Kentucky took their first lead of the game at 11-10, marked by a fastbreak layup by A’dia Mathies at the 12:54 mark of the first half.
– Vanderbilt regained the lead off two made free throws by Jence Rhoads.
Merideth Marsh sunk back-to-back 3-pointers at the 10:28 and 9:31 marks of the first half, respectively, to extend Vanderbilt’s lead by three.
– Kentucky took back the lead with a layup by Victoria Dunlap at the 7:40 mark of the first half. They extended their lead with three consecutive made free throws to take a 22-18 lead.
– A highly contested layup at the 1:52 mark of the first half by Hannah Tuomi put the Commodores within three of the Wildcats’ lead.
– Made free throws by Merideth Marsh and Jessica Mooney brought Vanderbilt within one with one minute remaining in the half.
Merideth Marsh and Jence Rhoads, each with seven points, led Vanderbilt.
– Vanderbilt is 10-2 on the season when making more 3-pointers than their opponent (VU:4; UK:1)
– The Commodores outrebounded Kentucky, 15-14. The ‘Dores are 8-1 on the season when outrebounding their opponent.

Second Half
Jence Rhoads kept the Commodores within a few of Kentucky with a jumper at the 18:01 mark of the second half and a layup at the 16:22 mark.
Lauren Lueders brought the Commodores within one with a 3-pointer at the 14:54 mark of the second half.
– After a small Kentucky run, Jence Rhoads brought Vanderbilt back within one with a layup at the 12:02 mark of the second half. She then tied the game at 35 with a made free throw at the 11:20 mark.
Lauren Lueders gave the Commodores their first lead since the 7:40 mark of the first half with a clutch 3-pointer at the 10:33 mark of the second half.
Jence Rhoads put Vanderbilt back up by two with a layup at the 8:46 mark of the second half.
Lauren Lueders hit her second 3-pointer of the night at the 8:25 mark of the second half to extend Vanderbilt’s lead, 43-38.
Jence Rhoads tied her career high of 20 with a layup at the 6:02 mark of the second half.
Jence Rhoads hit a new career high (22) with a fastbreak layup at the 4:27 mark of the second half.
Elan Brown gave the Commodores their first double-digit lead of the game with a 3-pointer at the 3:34 mark of the second half, 54-44.
Lauren Lueders hit her 8th game of the year in double-digit scoring at the 2:17 mark of the second half, making her free throw.
Jence Rhoads completed the 3-point play with a highly contested fastbreak layup and a made free throw, giving her 25 points.
Merideth Marsh hit both free throws with 54 seconds remaining to put Vanderbilt up by 15, its largest lead of the night.
