Vanderbilt Hosting NIT Monday 3/17/2005 Vanderbilt officials have been informed that Memorial Gymnasium will be the site for second round National Invitation Tournament action Monday evening. Game time is to be announced. The Commodores will host the winner of Saturday’s Wichita State-Western Kentucky game. Tickets for the game are $12. Because of the shortage of time in selling and distributing the tickets, fans are urged to purchase their tickets over the phone or by using the on-line ticketing system. Those wishing to buy over the phone should call 877-44-VANDY and use Option 2. Vanderbilt’s ticketing web site will be available for use at 8 a.m. Friday, and fans using this option will be able to print their own ticket at home, eliminating the need to use the Will Call window. The McGugin Center ticket office will be open Friday and Monday from 8:30 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. It will not be open for walk-in sales over the weekend but the phone and internet sales options will be working. Vanderbilt students with a valid identification card can purchase one ticket for $4. The Vanderbilt student ticket sale begins Friday from 12 Noon until 5 p.m. at the McGugin Center ticket office. The sale will continue on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Memorial Gym box office. Tickets purchased over the phone or internet will be picked up at Will Call prior to the game. Will Call for this game will be located in the Gymnasium practice gym (adjacent the box office) to help eliminate waiting. There is no reserve parking for this event. The parking lot behind the baseball outfield will be available to those patrons with a valid handicap placard on a first come basis. Other surface lots around Memorial will be free of charge. Parking in the 25th Avenue Garage and Kensington Garage will be $5. Handicap parking will also be free of charge in the 25th Avenue Garage. The Commodores advanced into the second round with a 67-60 victory at Indiana Wednesday night. |
