The Vanderbilt women’s golf team finished the NCAA Championship in a tie for 10th place with a final team total of 1163 (303-290-286-284), with freshman Simin Feng leading the Commodores with an individual score of 284 (75-71-71-67), which tied her for 13th position on the individual leader board.
The Commodores fired a final-round score of 284 on Friday and tied with Texas A&M for 10th, while Feng vaulted up the individual standings after firing a final-round 67 at the Tulsa Country Club.
Sophomore Jennifer Hahn carded a two-under, 68, on Friday, with other counters coming from Irina Gabasa, who shot a 74, and Antonia Scherer, who carded a 75.
“We really had it going for a while today, but let a few shots slip away near the end,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “Overall it just wasn’t our week, but what a spring we’ve had and I couldn’t be more proud of this team.”
Duke won their sixth national championship, defeating USC by two strokes. The Trojans’ Doris Chen won medalist honors over the Blue Devils’ Celine Boutier.
