Vanderbilt Faces Ole Miss in First Round of SEC Men’s Tournament Vanderbilt will battle Ole Miss in the first round of the 2004 Southeastern Conference Tournament at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. March 11 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised by Jefferson Pilot Sports. The Commodores (19-8, 8-8 SEC) earned the Eastern Division’s fourth seed after finishing the regular season with a 71-61 loss at Georgia on Saturday. Mario Moore and Julian Terrell led Vanderbilt with 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Rebels (13-14 overall, 5-11 SEC) took the Western Division’s fifth seed, concluding their season with a 55-45 home victory against Arkansas on Saturday. Justin Reed led Ole Miss with 19 points and eight rebounds. The Vanderbilt-Ole Miss winner will take on Mississippi State, the league’s overall champion, on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Vanderbilt will be playing in its 43rd SEC Tournament with an all-time record of 25-41 (.379). Vanderbilt is 1-3 against Ole Miss at the tournament.
