Starting Lineups
– Vanderbilt started senior Jermaine Beal and sophomores Jeffery Taylor and Brad Tinsley at guard … sophomore Andre Walker started at forward and junior A.J. Ogilvy at center. This was the sixth time Vanderbilt has used this starting lineup during the 2009-10 season and the seventh time ever … Vanderbilt is 6-1 all-time with the lineup and 5-1 this season.
– Beal leads the team with 73 career starts, including 69 straight … Beal has now played in a team-high 106 career games for the Commodores … Ogilvy made the 67th start of his career and has played in 70 games … Taylor made his 38th consecutive start and has started every game of his career … Tinsley made the 35th start of his career and 18th in a row, starting every game since Jan. 31, 2009 at Auburn … The start by Walker was the eighth of his career … Before this season, his only start was against MTSU on Nov. 24, 2009 when he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

– Vanderbilt improved to 6-1 on the season, while DePaul dropped to 5-2 … With the win Vanderbilt has now won eight in a row at Memorial Gym, including all three games this year … VU’s last home loss was against Florida on Jan. 25, 2009.
– The 2009-10 season is the 110th in Vanderbilt’s history.
– Today’s meeting was the third all-time between DePaul and Vanderbilt … Vanderbilt leads the all-time series 3-0, including a 1-0 advantage in games played at Memorial Gym … Vanderbilt has now won three consecutive meetings with DePaul.

– DePaul took a 4-2 lead before Vanderbilt went on a 7-0 run to take a 9-4 lead following Jeffery Taylor’s three-point play with 15:56 to play.
Jeffery Taylor scored eight of Vanderbilt’s first 15 points.
– After not playing against Missouri on Wednesday, Festus Ezeli entered the game with 11:32 remaining in the half and scored his first bucket with 10:18 to play … Ezeli scored VU’s next four points after entering the game.
– Vanderbilt would extend its lead to seven, 19-12, with 9:27 to play in the first half following a pair of free throws by Festus Ezeli.
– Both teams started slowly offensively with VU starting 2-of-10 from three, while DePaul started 2-of-7 from beyond the arc in the half.
– With VU leading 19-12, DePaul went on a 9-3 run to pull within, one, 22-21, following a three-pointer by Michael Bizoukas with 5:03 to play.

Second Half Notes

– By the 15;33 mark of the second half there had already been five lead changes in the half.

– Head Coach Kevin Stallings now has 195 career wins and 129 losses at Vanderbilt, trailing Bob Polk’s 197 wins, which ranks second in school history … Roy Skinner’s 278 wins is more than any coach in Vanderbilt history.
Jeffery Taylor finished with 18 points for the second straight game, reaching double figures in scoring for the 28th time in his career … Taylor has scored in double figures in all but one game this season … Taylor attempted 14 shots, which matched a season high (Lipscomb).
A.J. Ogilvy scored a team-high 19 points and now has 1,124 for his career, which ranks 31st in school history … Ogilvy trails Mario Moore for 30th all-time (1,137 points) … A.J. Ogilvy has scored in double figures in 62 of 68 career games … It was the third straight game Ogilvy has reached double figures … 16 of Ogilvy’s 19 points came in the second half.
– Ogilvy made a career high 13-of-15 free throw attempts … Ogilvy’s previous career high was 11 against Iona on Dec. 31, 2007 … The last time someone made as many free throws as Ogilvy was when Matt Freije made 18 against Indiana Nov. 24, 2003.
– It was the second straight game he has attempted at least 10 free throws in a game and the third time in his career he has attempted 10 or more free throws in consecutive games … Ogilvy made 10 or more free throws in consecutive games for the first time in his career … He made 11 free throws against Missouri and 13 against DePaul.
– Ogilvy finished with one block and now has 112 in his career, which is third in school history … Ogilvy trails Julian Terrell (116 blocks) for second place in career blocks … During the season-opener against Lipscomb, Ogilvy became the second VU player to post 1,000 points and 100 blocks in a career … Will Perdue (1,281 points and 157 blocks) is the only other VU player to accomplish the feat … Ogilvy also became just the fourth player in VU history with 100 or more blocks in his career.
Brad Tinsley had a season-high four rebounds, topping his previous high of two … Tinsley’s career high in rebounds was six against UIC Dec. 3, 2008.
Jermaine Beal scored four points, failing to reach double figures for the first time this season … It was the fewest point total by Beal since Feb. 14, 2009 when he scored three against Tennessee.
– Beal finished the game with one assists and is now tied with Alex Gordon for ninth in school history with 335 career assists … Al McKinney ranks eighth in school history with 351 career assists.
