- Vanderbilt men’s basketball opens its 2023-24 campaign against Presbyterian on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. inside Memorial Gymnasium.
- The Commodores and Blue Hose meet for just the second time on the hardwood. The lone previous meeting was also a season opener, with the Dores claiming an 88-47 victory to start the 2010 season.
- Vanderbilt is 32-6 in season openers in the shot clock era and 3-1 under head coach Jerry Stackhouse.
- The Dores return starting guards Ezra Manjon and Tyrin Lawrence who each averaged in double figures last season. Vanderbilt also returns Colin Smith and Paul Lewis who each played in 25+ games as freshmen.
- 10 new faces join the black and gold, including six freshmen and four transfers.
- Vanderbilt is coming off back-to-back NIT Quarterfinal appearances marking the first time the Dores have won a postseason game in consecutive seasons since 2004-05.
- The Commodores enter their fifth season under coach Jerry Stackhouse who was named SEC co-Coach of the Year following Vanderbilt’s fourth-place finish in the league.
