HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S. C. — Vanderbilt wrapped up the 2023 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate with a 9-over-par, 293-stroke third round that placed the team in eighth place overall. LSU finished first at 6-over-par.
The Commodores finished 23-over par over the three day tournament and had two individuals—Celina Sattelkau and Tillie Claggett—finish in top 25.
Sattelkau followed up her even par performance Tuesday with a 1-over-par round Wednesday to finish tied for fourth place. It is her second season in a row placing in the top five at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate after she placed third in 2022.
Her bogey-free back nine of all pars was enough to solidify her a top-five spot on an ever-shifting leaderboard. The fourth-place finish was her second top-10 appearance of the spring season and fourth of the 2022-23 season.
Claggett also carded a 1-over-par third round that landed her 21st individually for the tournament.
Virgine Ding notched a 3-over-par performance on the final 18 holes that brought her total score after 54 holes to 7-over-par.
Tess Davenport was 4-over-par on the day and Natasha Kiel finished 6-over-par.
The Commodores return to South Carolina on March 24-26 to compete at the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
