Tinsley signs National LOI with MBB

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Head coach Kevin Stallings announced Monday that guard Brad Tinsley has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Vanderbilt and play basketball for the Commodores beginning in the fall of 2008.

“We are extremely excited to add Brad Tinsley to our incoming freshmen class,” said Stallings. “We have recruited Brad since early last summer and we were glad we had another chance at him once he reopened his recruitment. Brad is an outstanding player with the ability to play multiple guard positions. He is also an excellent young man who comes from a great family, something we value highly in our program.”

Tinsley, a 6’3 combo guard, from Oregon City, Oregon, who originally signed with Pepperdine in the fall but was released from his National Letter of Intent, averaged 24 points and seven assists per game and shared Oregon class 6A Player of the Year honors in his senior season for his Oregon City High School team. Tinsley is ranked number 94 in the Rivals.com database for 2008 prospects.

Tinsley joins Steve Tchiengang and Lance Goulbourne, who both signed in the fall, and Jeff Taylor, who inked in the spring, in the 2008 Commodore signing class. All four players are ranked in the top 100 in most recruiting databases.

The 6’3 guard chose Vanderbilt over Wake Forest, Oregon, and Arizona State.
