Three Commodores advance at Queens

LAS VEGAS—Three Vanderbilt bowlers survived the initial cut at the USBC Queens Tournament and advanced to Tuesday’s round of 64 competitors.

Sophomore Kristin Quah struggled with a 976 Monday series of six and slipped from 13th to 43rd in this elite event with a total of 3,235 pins (+235). That was three pins more than teammate Robyn Renslow, who came in 46th after 18 games and three days against field of international professionals and top amateurs.

he biggest mover for the Commodores was assistant coach Josie Earnest, whose big 1,104 series catapulted her into 64th position – the cut line – by a mere two pins.
