Student-Athlete Apologizes for MySpace Photo
8/12/2006
Vanderbilt rising junior guard Alex Gordon has apologized for a photo that was available for viewing on his MySpace.com Internet page. “The photo on the web site allows for people to have misperceptions about the type of person I am and what I stand for,” Gordon said. “I have spoken with Coach Kevin Stallings and written letters of apology to Chancellor Gordon Gee and Vice Chancellor David Williams regarding this matter.” “I want to apologize to my teammates, Commodore fans, the Nashville community and my hometown of Pensacola. I realize that, in my position, I am a role model to a lot of people and I know something like this can damage my reputation. I don’t want this to be a distraction for our team and I am mature enough to accept the consequences for this matter.”
