Strong Senior Performances Land Vandy in Seventh Place Vanderbilt finished seventh overall today in the Commodore Invitational out of 14 teams at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, Tenn. Photo Gallery | Complete Results Today’s event was the team’s first eight kilometer (roughly five miles) race. The meet hosted 14 schools and over 140 runners, including a number of Vanderbilt University cross country alumni. “Overall I am happy with the performance,” Head Coach Don Bailey said. “It was a good season opener.” However Coach Bailey did comment that he “expected the individual places to be higher, yet the times looked good in the heat.” The Commodores were led by solid performances by their seniors. Coach Bailey was thoroughly impressed with senior Taylor Hindle’s great outing and time of 27:51. Likewise, senior captain Eric Walle set a new school course record with a time of 27:13.
