Starting off the Spring Season at Home

Vanderbilt volleyball hosts Lipscomb Thursday to kick off its spring season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt volleyball will open its spring season on Thursday with the first of four exhibition matches when the Commodores host Lipscomb for a 7 p.m. first serve at Memorial Gymnasium.

On April 1, the Dores will welcome Belmont for Vandy’s second home match of the spring. First serve will be at 7 p.m.

Vanderbilt’s two away exhibitions include road trips to play Tennessee at Knoxville Catholic High School on March 27 and to face Purdue at Center Grove High School on April 11.

Since the end of the 2025 fall season—Vanderbilt’s first in 45 years—the Commodores welcomed six newcomers, including four transfer student-athletes and two freshmen. Setter Avery Scoggins, the 2024 AVCA Pacific Region Freshman of the Year, joins the Dores after spending two seasons at Arizona. Opposites MK Patten and Samantha Wunsch make their way to Nashville after beginning their collegiate careers at Georgia and Texas State, Respectively. Carly Hendrickson is a graduate transfer from UCLA where she was an outside. Vanderbilt volleyball’s freshman duo of Jordin Southall and Madi Victoriano hail from Orlando, Florida, and Frisco, Texas, respectively. The pair graduated high school a semester early to begin training with the Dores in January.

Vanderbilt also recently named Felicia Turner, previously the head coach at UNC Greensboro, the program’s offensive coordinator. Turner brings years of experience coaching SEC volleyball to this Commodore staff, spending six seasons at Georgia—three as the Bulldogs’ associate head coach—prior to her stint in Greensboro.

Both of Vanderbilt’s spring home exhibitions will be open to the public and free to attend. Fans can park in 25th Ave. Garage and enter through Gates 1, 4 and 11. Seating is open but limited to the lower bowl of Memorial Gymnasium. Vanderbilt’s clear bag policy will be in effect and OpenGate walk-through metal detectors will be in use at all entrances. Limited concessions will be available for purchase.
