UPDATE ON THE DORES

HOW THEY FARED
The surging Commodores stretched their winning streak to seven games with a pair of victories last week, pulling out a win in an overtime thriller at James Madison on Wednesday and then routing UNC Asheville at home on Saturday.
Vanderbilt (10-2) hasn’t lost a game since falling to Duke on Nov. 21.
During the 83-57 win over UNC Asheville, freshman Kylee Smith scored a season-high 17 points and Heather Bowe added 16. Smith finished 7-of-9 from the floor and pulled down six rebounds.
Sophomore Jasmine Jenkins added 12 points and freshman Marques Webb had 10.
Earlier in the week, in an 89-85 win against JMU, senior Christina Foggie hit a clutch 3-pointer in overtime that tied the game and sparked an 11-4 game-ending run. Foggie finished with 29 points, making 9-of-22 from the floor, including 5-of-12 from 3-point range.
Senior Jasmine Lister added 16 points with four rebounds and six assists. Lister and Foggie both played all 45 minutes during the contest.
MILESTONE FOR LISTER
Senior Jasmine Lister Jasmine dished out her 500th career assist in the win over UNC Asheville. Lister finished the game with a team-high seven assists, and now has 503 for her career, the sixth most in Vanderbilt history. She is likely to soon pass former Commodore Rhonda Blades (505) for fifth place on the all-time list.
GAME TIME CHANGE
The tipoff time for Vanderbilt’s game against Tennessee at Memorial Gym on Jan. 12 has been pushed back one hour — from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. — and the game will now be televised by ESPN. (It was originally scheduled to be aired on ESPN2).
It will be Vanderbilt’s first game on ESPN since appearing on ESPN’s College Gameday on Jan. 15, 2011 in Knoxville.
DAHLMAN REMAINS SIDELINED
Vanderbilt is still without the services of freshman guard Rebekah Dahlman, who is out indefinitely after undergoing two procedures to dissolve a blood clot earlier this month.
Dahlman was in the starting lineup for each of Vanderbilt’s first nine games and was leading the SEC in 3-point percentage before being sidelined.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Commodores will play their third road game in the past four contests when they travel to UAB for their next game on Dec. 30.
Vanderbilt owns a 2-1 mark on the road this season.
DECEMBER DYNASTY
Having gone 4-0 thus far this month, the Commodores have now won 12 straight December games, a streak that dates back to the 2011-12 season.
Vanderbilt went 6-0 in the month of December last season, and hasn’t lost in the final month of the year since dropping a 66-59 decision to NC State on Dec. 18, 2011.
