Rachel Northcutt

Physical Therapy Resident

Rachel Northcutt joined Vanderbilt 2021 as a physical therapy sports resident. She provides individualized treatment and assists with on-field coverage for all of Vanderbilt’s varsity programs.

Northcutt started with the Commodores after completing an internship with EXOS Athletes’ Performance in Gulf Breeze, Florida, while individualizing care for athletes training for the NFL Combine and members of the United States military in an accelerated return to duty program. Prior experience includes movement and injury prevention at Evansville and physical therapy experience with Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Owensboro. Northcutt has also worked in strength and conditioning areas. While at Kentucky, she worked within the Department of Health and Wellness to develop the “Wonder Woman” Strength Program, designed to encourage and educate females interested in the important health related activity.

Originally from Marshall County (Ky.), Northcutt received her degree in kinesiology from Kentucky in 2018. She continued her education at Evansville, earning a doctorate of physical therapy in 2021. Northcutt has earned the title of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, EXOS Performance Specialist, and Certified Emergency Medical Responder. She is certified in dry needling, BFR, and SFMA-level 1.
