Marcus Edwards
Strength and Conditioning Coach (Men's Basketball)
Marcus Edwards serves as the strength and conditioning coach for Vanderbilt men’s basketball. The 2023-24 season marks his second on Jerry Stackhouse’s staff in Nashville.
Edwards arrived in Music City after spending the 2021-22 season as the director of athletic performance for Missouri men’s basketball. Prior to Missouri, he spent the previous two seasons as the strength coach at Southern Illinois.
Edwards spent the 2017-18 campaign on Missouri’s staff as the assistant strength and conditioning coach, aiding in the Tigers’ run to the NCAA Tournament. He then went on to serve as the strength and conditioning coach for Wyoming men’s basketball in 2018-19 before moving on to work at Southern Illinois for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from Missouri in 2015, Edwards spent two seasons at Texas as a graduate strength and conditioning intern and teaching assistant. He received his master’s from Texas in 2017 before joining Missouri’s staff in 2017-18.
He is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association. Edwards and his wife, Anika, have one daughter, Ahna.
