Lance Schuemann
Athletic Trainer (Men's Basketball)
Lance Schuemann joined the Vanderbilt Athletics staff as athletic trainer for the Commodore men’s basketball program in August 2024.
Previously he served as senior associate athletic trainer at Georgia for six years, where he worked directly with the men’s basketball program. Schuemann worked with both the men’s basketball and women’s golf teams at Wyoming for five seasons before moving to Athens, and he also has two years of experience serving as the athletic trainer for men’s basketball and women’s tennis at Charleston Southern.
A 2007 graduate of Florida with a degree in athletic training, Schuemann would serve two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Valparaiso before receiving his master’s degree in sports administration. He worked as an intern athletic trainer with the Florida Marlins in the spring of 2008, and was an intern as the athletic trainer for the men’s basketball and men’s tennis teams at Florida during the 2010-11 season. Schuemann is certified by the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) and the American Red Cross.
Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Schuemann is married to Tracy Campbell—the former athletic trainer for Vanderbilt baseball—and the couple have one daughter, Maeve.
