Jerry Stackhouse a finalist for three national awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s basketball head coach Jerry Stackhouse continued earning recognition for the success of the Commodores this season, being named a finalist for three national awards.

The fourth-year coach is a finalist for the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year, Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award and Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year through CollegeInsider.com.

  • The Jim Phelan Award is presented annually to the nation’s top Division I coach.
  • The Skip Prosser Man of the Year award honors those who not only achieve success on the basketball court but who display moral integrity off of it as well.
  • The Ben Jobe Award is presented annually to the top Division I minority coach.

Stackhouse, who was named SEC Co-Coach of the Year by his SEC peers, has led Vanderbilt to an 18-13 overall record. The Dores finished tied for the fourth-best record in conference play, going 11-7 in SEC action.
