Josh Jones
Strength Coach
Josh Jones joins the Vanderbilt staff this season as the strength and conditioning coach.
Jones completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana State University (2005-2009), where he also played football for the Sycamores. After graduating from ISU, he received a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from IUPUI (2009-2011) where he also taught classes through an assistantship.
Jones took on an internship with the Indiana Pacers with head strength coach Shawn Windle in 2010 while finishing my Masters degree. He was then hired at IUPUI for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning position (May 2011-Jan. 2014). While at IUPUI, Jones coached Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Golf, and Tennis teams.
In January of 2014, he moved on to St. Vincent Sports Performance, where he assisted with the NFL Pre-Combine Training program in addition to his primary focus on middle school, high school and college athletes.
Through St. Vincent Sports Performance, he was also the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach under Stephanie White with the Indiana Fever during the 2015 season.
Jones is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and also certified in Olympic Weightlifting (USAW) and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS).
A native of Mooresville, Ind., Jones resides in Spring Hill, Tenn.
Jones and his wife Stephanie have two sons: Josh and Drake.
