Earned a top 40 finish at the Belmont Opener with a time of 17:01.519, good for a 39th-place finish… Ran a 28:44.2 at the Commodore Classic… Posted a 28:10.89 at the Louisville Classic… Ran a 28:41.0 at the Crimson Classic.

2016 Cross Country: Posted a time of 33:40.2 (124th) at the NCAA South Regionals… Finished fifth for Vanderbilt and 89th overall at the SEC Championships with a time of 27:00.10… Posted a time of 27:06.50 (117th) at the Crimson Classic… Posted a time of 26:50.10 (143rd) at the Notre Dame Invitational… Was fourth for Vanderbilt and 114th overall at the Commodore Classic with a time of 26:41.6… Posted a time of 16:21.1 (48th) at the Belmont Opener.

2014 Cross Country:
At the SEC Championships, he ran a 31:02.30… Ran a 28:32.41 at the Florida State Invitational… Competed in the Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 29:58.0… Finished the Commodore Classic with a 27:53.73… Posted a time of 16:46.82 at the Belmont Opener in his collegiate debut for the Commodores.

Personal: Son of Mike and Joy DeFabrizio. Sam enjoys writing and wants to be a published author in the future. He swam competitively for a number of years before switching to running full time; he now does triathlons in his free time. Sam considers himself “an aspiring good person” and “a dabbler in many things but an expert in none.”
