Dan Cage
Director of Basketball Operations
Dan Cage is entering his fourth season as the Director of Operations and his sixth as a member of the Vanderbilt basketball staff.
Cage was promoted to the Director of Operations in July of 2012 after spending two seasons as the Assistant Director of Operations.
Cage is no stranger to the Commodore program, however. He earned four letters from 2003-07 and helped lead VU to two Sweet 16 appearances in 2004 and 2007. Cage played in 125 games in his four-year career, started 32, and in his senior season averaged 11.2 ppg.
Duties for the former Vanderbilt standout include assisting with academics, travel, scouting and Commodore basketball alumni relations. He has orchestrated two successful Alumni Games, with more than 50 former Vanderbilt players coming back to Memorial Gym for a reunion in the two games.
Cage played in Europe for four seasons after graduating with an undergraduate degree in economics in May of 2007. He played in Germany (TBB-Trier) in 2007-08, France (JSF Nanterre) and Spain (Caceres) in 2008-09 and 2009-10 (CB Canarias).
Dan married his long time girlfriend from Indianapolis, Ind., Anna Pizzi in August of 2009. The couple resides in Nashville.
