Former Commodore standout Julian Terrell joined the Vanderbilt basketball staff in September of 2013 as the program[apos]s Director of Video Operations.

‘We[apos]re excited to have Julian back with us after a successful career overseas,’ said Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings. ‘Julian is a man of great character who will be a positive asset for our entire program, and his knowledge of video technology will be a tremendous value to us. The technology is constantly changing, and Julian is the perfect person to make sure we[apos]re up to speed.’

Terrell, who starred with the Commodores for Coach Stallings from 2003-06 and helped lead Vanderbilt to the Sweet 16 in 2004, returns to the program after eight years playing professionally overseas. Terrell played in Germany, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Finland, and Kosovo during that time.

Terrell graduated in 2006 with a degree in Human and Organizational Development and Leadership, and averaged 7.0 points and 5.1 rebounds in his four-year Commodore career. In his senior season in 2005-06, he averaged 10.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

‘I am very excited to be back with the men[apos]s basketball program,’ said Terrell. ‘I came here as a player in the summer of 2002 and never imagined 11 years later I would be returning to further my career. I thank Coach Stallings for all he has done for me over time and look forward to contributing to the growth of our program in any way I possibly can.’

Terrell was married to Kristian Gonzalez in June of 2009, and together they have one son, Justice Julian, who was born September 11, 2012. Terrell and his family currently reside in Hermitage, Tenn.
