Soccer hosts two home games, football and others hit the road

Vanderbilt’s soccer team hosts two games this weekend and numerous other Commodore teams will be on the road.

Competing on the road will be Vanderbilt’s football team at Kentucky, men’s and women’s cross country squads, men’s and women’s tennis teams and the women’s golf team.

The soccer team opens SEC play at home by hosting Auburn at 6 p.m. Friday and Alabama at 7 p.m. Sunday. Fans are encouraged to wear black to Friday’s game for a blackout. Free popcorn will be distributed to the first 300 people at the game.

On Sunday, free “Anchor Down” key chains will be distributed to the first 200 people at the game.

The football team hits the road for the first time this season for a matchup at Kentucky on Saturday. The game will kick at 11 a.m. CT and be televised by SEC Network. Be sure to visit Gameday Central for everything you need to know.

Women’s tennis opens its 2014-15 season by traveling to Greenville, S.C., for the Furman Fall Classic, while Gonzales Austin and Rhys Johnson of the men’s tennis team travel to Tulsa, Okla., for the ITA All-American Championships.

The cross country teams travel to Minnesota for the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday morning.

Lastly, the women’s golf team travels to Orlando, Fla., for the Annika Intercollegiate Sunday through Tuesday.
