Commencement will be held Friday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Alumni Lawn. At that time, Vanderbilt University will award diplomas to a graduating class of seniors that has experienced outstanding success on the field and in the classroom.

Favorite professor and/or class: Political science department head and outstanding professor Carrie Russell is my favorite professor and her Constitutional Law class significantly added to my motivation to go to law school.

Plans for next year: Begin training to become a physician at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine

Favorite athletic memory at Vanderbilt: Hosting the SEC Cross Country Championship on our home course my sophomore year (2012). Our whole team ran an excellent race, we achieved our goal of beating LSU, and lots of Vanderbilt fans and alumni were there.

Favorite non-athletic memory at Vanderbilt: Traveling to China for a Vanderbilt Maymester course

Favorite professor and/or class: Professor Kane Jennings’ was an excellent fluid mechanics professor. Professor Russell Dunn has also been an incredible professor for the junior and senior chemical engineering lab courses and the senior design course sequence.

In one word what does it feel like to be graduating: Bittersweet

Favorite place on campus: Memorial Gymnasium student section or Hendrix Room dinner with teammates

Favorite place in Nashville: The Pharmacy (restaurant)

What will you miss most about Vanderbilt: Being around such a great group of friends and teammates every day.

Favorite athletic memory at Vanderbilt: The bus ride home from Tennessee in 2015. In general, being with the team my senior year. Best group of guys I’ve had the pleasure to call family.

Favorite professor and/or class: Too many to choose from. They shaped my experience. I would say Bob Driskill, though. I did an independent study with him as well as went to London to study abroad.

In one word what does it feel like to be graduating: Nostalgic

Favorite athletic memory at Vanderbilt: Throwing my first ball at the home tournament this past March. It was a strike and I turn around and see everyone crying and smiling. I have never felt so much love from my team as I did in that moment.

Favorite non-athletic memory at Vanderbilt: Defending my senior honors thesis. I never thought I could do it, but I did and got honors!

Favorite professor and/or class: World Music. Strangely, it sparked my love of Sociology

In one word what does it feel like to be graduating: Rewarding

Favorite place on campus: The Pub

Favorite place in Nashville: Café Coco. Never a dull moment there.

What will you miss most about Vanderbilt: I am going to miss the wonderful people I have met, especially the adults in McGugin who have helped me through my time here. I owe each and every one a big hug, because without them I don’t think I would be the person I am today.

Favorite athletic memory at Vanderbilt: Beating UT in Knoxville and the fans throwing bottles, shirts and whatever they could get their hands onat us on the field as we celebrated our dub!

Favorite non-athletic memory at Vanderbilt: I was volunteering at the (Monroe Carell Jr.) children’s hospital and I taught one of the kids how to play chess. I took it easy on him but I still won.The next time I visited he said that he’d been practicing and wanted a rematch; I played the kid three more times and was checkmated all three. The last time I saw him he jokingly asked if I wanted my rematch, I declined and offered to play another game.

Favorite professor and/or class: David Williams for Topics in Comp Politics: South Africa Conquest & Apartheid. Professor Williams’ impartial nature towards the culmination of societal issues we discussed in class taught me to view things in my daily life from different perspectives before drawing conclusions.

Favorite place in Nashville: Phantasmagoric

Favorite place on campus: Dudley Field on a Saturday night

Favorite place in Nashville: Centennial Park. It was my getaway whenever I wanted to be alone and contemplate on my life and count my blessings.

What will you miss most about Vanderbilt: The support system. I knew any time I had an issue in my personal life or was feeling down for whatever reason I could go upstairs or downstairs in the McGugin Center and there would be a multitude of staff members that I felt comfortable with togive me insightful advice to keep moving forward.
