Senior Kate Sborov carded a second-round 73 on Saturday at the Clemson Invitational to lead all Commodore players, and as a team Vanderbilt is in 15th place after shooting a second-round 297 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
Vanderbilt also counted a 74 from junior Alexandra Farnsworth, and a pair of 75’s from Abbey Carlson and Courtney Zeng.
“Well, we got off to the good start we wanted but unfortunately couldn’t maintain it on the back nine,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “It was a much better scoring day for us and each one feels like we left several shots out there. It was nice to see Kate and Courtney bounce back. We are certainly trending in the right direction and I’m grateful we have one more day tomorrow to play
Furman leads the tournament with an eight-under par, 568 (285-283), one shot better than Florida and Florida State. Individually, Sophia Schubert of Texas is the leader with an eight-under par, 136 (69-67).
