AT THE TIP

  • Vanderbilt hosts in-state rival Tennessee for a 2:30 p.m. tipoff in the first of two meetings this season between the Commodores and Volunteers.
  • The game will air on SEC Network with Roy Philpott and Dane Bradshaw on the call. Fans can also catch the game on 102.5 The Game with Kevin Ingram and Tim Thompson.

SOLD OUT MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM

  • Vanderbilt’s next two home games, against Tennessee and Kentucky, are sold out.
  • 14,316 fans will take in college basketball on its brightest stage the next two Saturdays.
  • The sellouts are the first since 2019 and the first back-to-back sellouts since the 2011-12 season.

MEMORIAL MAGIC LIVES

  • For the first time this season, Memorial Magic struck on Wednesday night when the Dores took down South Carolina, 66-63.
  • Devin McGlockton secured a rebound and put it back with 0.6 seconds to go, breaking a 63-all deadlock and hitting the ensuing free throw for the final margin.
  • McGlockton also came up with a critical block on Nick Pringle the possession prior, sending the rejection off of Pringle to give the Dores the final possession.

TURNOVER TIME

  • Vanderbilt forced 25 South Carolina turnovers on Wednesday night.
  • The 25 turnovers created are the most by Vandy in an SEC game since Jan. 29, 2000, when the Dores turned Florida over 26 times.
  • The game marks only the fourth time in the past decade an SEC team has created 25 or more turnovers in a conference game.
  • The 25 turnovers are the most created in any major conference game (P5 vs. P5) this season.
  • The Dores nabbed 15 steals, the most in any SEC game this season. It’s the second most steals for Vanderbilt in an SEC game behind only a 16-steal performance against the Gamecocks in 1997.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Vanderbilt and Tennessee meet for the 208th time on Saturday, with the Vols holding a 131-76 edge in the series.
  • Vanderbilt owns a 54-45 advantage at home in the series, including a 42-32 mark in Memorial Gymnasium.
  • Vanderbilt’s most recent win in the series came when Tennessee, also ranked No. 6 at the time, visited Nashville in 2023.
