The SEC’s freshmen leading scorer was honored once again by the Southeastern Conference Monday when Riley LaChance was named the league’s Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. LaChance averaged 17 points, 4.5 rebounds, and two steals in two Commodore victories last week against Florida and South Carolina.
LaChance, with his third honor, ties John Jenkins (2009-10) and A.J. Ogilvy (2007-08) for the most Freshman of the Week awards by a Vanderbilt player. For the season, LaChance leads all freshmen with 12.8 points per contest.
Vanderbilt caps a three-game home stand this Wednesday night when the Commodores host Tennessee at Memorial Gym. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT, and the game can be seen live on the SEC Network.
