COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team looks to continue to build momentum heading into the postseason, as the Commodores close out the 2024-25 regular season on Sunday at Missouri. Tipoff against the Tigers is set for 2 p.m. CT and streams live on SEC Network+.
Starting Five
>> Vanderbilt comes into the 2024-25 regular season finale sporting a 20-9 overall record and a 7-8 mark in SEC play. The Dores are looking to collect back-to-back wins on Sunday, as Vandy is coming off a 91-58 victory over Texas A&M on Thursday night at Memorial Gymnasium. Sophomore Khamil Pierre tallied 31 points and nine steals in the victory over the Aggies.
>> The Commodores look to solidify their seed for next week’s SEC Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina on Sunday. Vanderbilt currently holds the No. 9 seed at 7-8 in league play. A Vandy win at Mizzou, coupled with a Tennessee home loss to Georgia, would give the Commodores the No. 8 seed and the final bye into Thursday’s second round. If the Dores and Lady Vols both win on Sunday, then Vanderbilt will be the No. 9 seed and play in the first round against the No. 16 seed on Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT. A Commodore loss to Missouri, coupled with a Mississippi State home win over Auburn, would result in Vanderbilt being the No. 10 seed and face the No. 15 seed at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
>> The Commodores head to Columbia, Missouri, seeking their eighth win away from Memorial Gymnasium this season. The Dores are 6-4 in true road games this season and 1-1 in neutral site contests. Vandy has won a total of nine SEC road games over the last two seasons.
>> Vanderbilt will be going for win No. 21 on Sunday. The Commodores recorded their 20th victory of the season in Thursday’s 91-58 win over Texas A&M. Coupled with last season’s 23 wins, it marks the first time since the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaigns that the Dores have posted back-to-back 20-win seasons.
>> Sunday will be the 15th meeting between the Commodores and Tigers. Missouri holds the all-time series lead at 10-4, though Vanderbilt posted a 68-61 victory at Mizzou Arena last season. The Commodores are 2-4 against the Tigers in Columbia and 1-3 under head coach Shea Ralph.

Pierre’s Big Night vs. Texas A&M
Sophomore Khamil Pierre recorded her second career 30-plus point outing on Feb. 27, as she scored 31 points vs. Texas A&M. She added a career-high nine steals to her statline vs. the Aggies.
Pierre’s nine steals are tied for third-most in a game in program history, matching the totals of Karen Booker (at Georgia; Feb. 15, 1987), Deborah Denton (vs. New Mexico State; Jan. 4, 1987), and Cathy Bender (vs. East Tennessee State; Jan. 28, 1982).
Blakes Closing In On Another Record
Mikayla Blakes comes into the week with 670 points scored this season. She is two points away from breaking Vanderbilt’s freshman single-season scoring record of 671 points set by Harriet Brumfield in 1981-82.
The freshman’s 670 points scored in 2024-25 are the fifth-most scored in a season by a Commodore. In addition to closing in on Brumfield’s 1981-82 season total, Blakes is 53 points away from passing Chantelle Anderson’s 2000-01 total of 722 points for third on the list.
Pierre Breaks Into Vandy’s Single-Season Field Goals Made List
Sophomore Khamil Pierre is having a 2024-25 campaign that has been etched into the Vanderbilt women’s basketball record book. She has made 244 field goals this season, which puts her in a tie for eighth with Sheri Sam (1995-96) on Vandy’s single-season field goals made list.
Pierre’s 244 made field goals lead the SEC and are third-most in all of NCAA Division I.
