NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt men’s and women’s cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA South Regional Championships hosted by the University of North Alabama. Races will start at 8:30 a.m Friday and 9:30 a.m. for the women and men, respectively.
The men’s team will have six runners participating in the 10k race, and the women’s team will have 10 runners racing in the 6k race. More than 25 programs will be competing for berths at the NCAA Championships. Live updates and race results can be found here.
At the SEC Championships on Oct. 29, the men finished in 11th place as a team while the women finished in eighth place. For the women, Grace Jensen finished 17th overall while McKenzie Yanek battled for 29th position and senior Haley Walker was 43rd.
For the men, Matthew Estopinal placed 15th while Nick Laning was not far behind with a 23rd-place finish. He was followed by freshman Philip Metcalf who crossed the finish line in 69th place.
Postseason racing will continue after the NCAA South Regionals with the NCAA Championships in Tallahassee, Florida, on Nov. 20 for those that qualify.
