NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Commodores’ spring season continues as they head south to Arlington, Texas, for the Prairie View A&M Invitational at the International Training and Research Center.
The top-ranked Vanderbilt bowling team is coming off a weekend at the Northeast Classic that was cut short due to inclement weather. The Dores finished the abbreviated weekend with a 9-1 record, sweeping its Friday matches and besting top 10 opponent North Carolina A&T. Despite Vandy’s winning record, the team ended the event eighth on the leaderboard, which is determined by total pinfall.
The Commodores will look to bounce back in Arlington when they face a small but talented field, including No. 5 Arkansas State, No. 14 Duquesne, No. 2 Jacksonville State, No. 12 Louisiana Tech, No. 9 Maryville, No. 3 Nebraska, No. 10 North Carolina A&T, Prairie View A&M, No. 8 Sam Houston, Texas Southern and No. 4 Youngstown State.
Action will kick off Friday at 1:30 a.m. with five sets of five Baker matches. Saturday’s five traditional matches will begin at 9:25 a.m. and Sunday’s Baker bracket play is slated for 8:25 a.m.
