Why do you want to be a PA announcer for the Commodores?
I want to be the PA Announcer for the Commodores to help them win! I want to help create a high energy and fun stadium environment for the student-athletes, coaches, and fans that is one of the best in the country. I have done this in several venues and I want to bring the same energy and experience to Vanderbilt Stadium. Beyond that my greatest passion in announcing is helping fans make special moments and memories. Everyone in life can have struggles and tough times. If I can help people set those struggles aside and enjoy the moment –the stadium experience and the game on the field -then I have succeeded. I love helping make those moments happen for fans and would be honored to be the next “Moment Maker” for Vanderbilt University.
What previous experience makes you most qualified to be a PA announcer for the Commodores?
I have over 9 years and 300 games of PA announcing experience in football and other sports at both the high school and collegiate level. In 2021 I was selected as one of six finalists from a pool of 200 applicants in the Tennessee Titans PA announcer search. I am a lifelong fan of the game of football and have a deep knowledge of the game and the rules. The Nashville area has been my home for over 30 years and I have always been a fan of all Vanderbilt athletic programs. As an experienced announcer I am used to working with spotters, doing pregame production meetings, pronouncing complex names, adapting quickly to situations, and multitasking in a fast paced environment. I am comfortable working with production staff, security and game officials, sponsors, coaches, and visiting teams. Above all I am very coachable and receptive to feedback and new ideas. I am also a member of a Professional Announcers group made up of PA Announcers from across the country. This group shares ideas, trends and best practices that help me keep my announcing the best it can be.
