NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Commodores, who earned the No. 2 seed for the NCAA Bowling Championship, open competition Friday at the Rochester Regional when Vanderbilt takes on Dominican.
Dominican defeated Alabama A&M in the play-in match to move on to play the Dores on Friday morning. Sam Houston State and Maryville will face off on the other side of the bracket.
The tournament will follow a double-elimination mega-match format. Teams will play a traditional game, followed by a five-game Baker set. If one team wins both the traditional and Baker points, the match is over. If the teams split the two, the match goes to a best-of-seven Baker match tiebreaker.
Vanderbilt is making its 20th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in the program’s 22 seasons. In 2024-25, the Commodores advanced to the Lansing Regional final but fell short of making the Final Four.
This season, Vandy has recorded six top 3 finishes, including three straight runner-up placements. Commodores have earned a spot on 12 all-tournament teams, led by Katelyn Abigania with three selections. Abigania and Dannielle Henderson earned All-Conference USA honors, with Abigania being named to the second and all-rookie teams and Henderson earning a spot on the third team.
Action in Rochester kicks off at 8 a.m. CT and will be streamed on BowlTV.
