Team Records and Series Notes:
– Vanderbilt improves to 14-0 on the season. Rice falls to 3-9 on the season.
– The 14-0 start for the Commodores is the best start in school history.
– The Commodores now lead the all-time series against Rice 15-3 and 10-2 in games played in Nashville. The `Dores are now 67-18 all-time against Conference USA.

Vanderbilt Team Notes:
– Key Run: For the second consecutive game, the Commodores started the second half on a scoring run to put the game out of reach. Leading 31-26, Vanderbilt scored the first 11 points of the second half to take a 42-26 lead.
– Key Stat: Three-point shooting proved the difference in tonight’s game. While the Commodores made 8-of-23 (34.8 percent) from three, the Owls only knocked down 1-of-8 (12.5 percent), with the three coming in the last minute of play.
– Vanderbilt forced a season-high 24 turnovers, while allowing a season-low six assists.
– Vanderbilt had 21 assists on 28 made baskets.
– The Commodores and Owls each brought down 38 rebounds.
– The 76 points scored by the Commodores marked a season low.
Vanderbilt Individual Notes:
– Senior Shan Foster led the Commodores in scoring with 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor. Foster has scored in double figures in 18 consecutive games. Foster also knocked down four threes in the game to bring his career total to 288, which ties him for second on the Vanderbilt all-time three-point field goals made list with Scott Draud (1987-88, 90-91). Foster needs nine threes to break the record currently held by Ronnie McMahan.
– Freshman center Andrew Ogilvy added 14 points for the Commodores and recorded his second-straight nine-rebound game. Ogilvy has scored double-figures in every game this season.
– Freshman guard Keegan Bell dished out seven assists, one away from his career high.
– Senior guard Alex Gordon scored 11 points. Gordon has scored double figures in four of the last six games.
– Senior forward Ross Neltner had a career-high four steals. Neltner also scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds.
– Sophomore Jermaine Beal had five assists. Beal has had at least five assists in eight games this season. The sophomore also added seven points.
– Freshman Joe Duffy recorded his first career steal.
