Vanderbilt vs. Anderson College
Memorial Gymnasium

Head Coach Melanie Balcomb

“Right now we’re better at adjusting and reading in offensive situations than defensive situations. I’m excited about our overall depth. All the people I put in were ready to play, we got some really good minutes in this game. We’ve definitely got some players that are playing better in the game than in practice, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.”

On Caroline Williams:
“She was practicing so well and confidently, she’s just becoming a better player. She’s becoming more of a triple threat and really starting to read the game.”

On a Christina Wirth “hustle” play:
“Tina [Wirth] shot the ball from the baseline, missed it, and sprinted all the way down and got the charge on the opposite baseline. It was really inspiring to watch.”

Junior Guard Caroline Williams

“This year is a completely new year for me. Last year Abi [Ramsey] was our shooter. But now we’re upperclassmen and it’s time for me to learn how to become a complete player.”

Freshman Forward Christina Wirth

“My size allows me to be pretty versatile. All through practice I’ll switch positions.”

About next week’s Arizona State Tournament being in her hometown:
“I’m excited to see everyone. It’s a huge tournament. We’re going to work hard and see what we can do.”
