NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt sophomore Scotty Pippen Jr. has been picked to the Southeastern Conference preseason All-SEC team as voted on by the league’s coaches, the SEC announced Thursday.
Pippen, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard, was selected to the second team. He played in all 32 Vandy games in 2019-20 and averaged 12 points and 3.6 assists per game.
A product of Los Angeles, Pippen scored a career-high 21 points twice – once against Austin Peay and once against South Carolina – and registered eighth assists in a win over South Carolina State. Pippen also attempted 189 free throws and 952 minutes.
The coaches’ preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC basketball coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
