Olivia Wood Joins Commodores

Freshman spent fall semester at Chattanooga

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s golf added mid-year transfer Olivia Wood to the Commodores’ roster. Wood spent the fall semester competing at Chattanooga.

A freshman from Ballito, South Africa, Wood was a standout on the junior circuit with three wins, six top fives and seven top 10s in seven events last season. Wood has climbed as high as No. 229 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Wood is a member of the GolfRSA Women’s National Team and owns four wins in her native South Africa. She captured the 2025 Regional All-Africa Challenge Trophy, KZNLGA Natal Amateur and the Free State Open along with the 2024 Western Province Junior Girls Championship.

This fall she competed in nine rounds with a 72.6 scoring average to begin her collegiate career. She finished 15th at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate and 30th at Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Championship.

Wood will join the Dores in the spring semester which begins with the Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 1.
